We Need To Find The Right People!

We have a number of important positions available at Tailrace Community in Launceston Tasmania and we need to find the right people.

Tailrace Community is a church that is much more than a Sunday church and we are looking far and wide for the right team members to join our team to help us engage with the local community.

Tailrace Community owns the Tailrace Centre and is a recognised innovation leader in both the ministries that we conduct and how we use our building facility to engage with our community seven days a week.

We are an externally focussed church that wants to be the best church we can possibly be for our community.

At the Tailrace Centre, we do much more than doing church on a Sunday, running a conference and events centre, a café / restaurant and an indoor children’s playground that enable us to reach and interact with the broader community throughout the week.

We are a missional church that seeks to live out the Great Commandments and the Great Commission and need to find the right people with a heart for others and for ministry who can use their skills and leadership giftings to help us go to the next level.

We seek to be a 21stcentury version of the church in Acts 2 which enjoyed the favour of the people in the broader community so much that many came to faith in Jesus and were daily added to their number.

The positions we are offering may sound normal, but what you will experience at Tailrace is different to experiences in mainstream churches.  The cultural engagement will mess with your heart and force you to question and think outside of the box as you grapple as we have done with scriptural integrity mixed with loving cultural engagement. The positions will require faith and most likely will stretch your faith.

The positions are:

  1. Executive Pastor / Business Manager

At Tailrace we employ 30 to 40 staff across a range of ministry, conference centre, café / restaurant and indoor children’s playground positions.

We are looking for the right person who can manage the business side of things but have a huge heart for ministry so that ministry happens through all that we do.

This is a challenging role that is quite possibly unique.  The role has the potential to enable the right candidate, wired for business and leadership, to make a kingdom difference.

We love investing into the lives of children and we have amazing opportunities to create events; activities, and tailored programs for little ones 6 days a week during term time and 7 days during school holiday times.

At Tailrace Community, kids church can happen any day of the week. For example last year we had over 1,200 child days in our school holiday programs, with bible stories being used every day.

We are looking for people who love kids; who love engaging with them and playing with them and who love making and taking creative opportunities to take children on a faith journey.

We have a role for a part time assistant children’s leader as well as a number of casual roles:

A) Part time worker to come alongside of our Children’s leader and implement some of the play changes we would like to see occur within Kids Paradise.
